Why are Iraqi resistance fighters called terrorists.....?

I agree that most of the Resistance fighters within Iraq are not terrorists. Now what do you call the Sunnis or Shiites who kill each other and set off car bombs at weddings and funerals of the other group? Aren't they terrorists.
