What can i do about the condition of the house i'm renting in the uk please help me?

ok so my kitchen work surfaces were moldy, 3 out of 4 of the bedrooms and the kitchen are all damp, the boiler doesn't work very well basically the place is falling down around us. so we reported it to the EHO they came and found even more things wrong with this place and sent a threatening letter to the landlord saying if things weren't fixed they were gunna get a large fine. so the owner came to look. currently there putting us half a new kitchen in ( and the words from the owners mouth were who gives a s### if it matches erm the people that live here?) in the process of doing that they found the kitchen floor boards are all rotten with damp so they all need ripping out! people just have there own set of keys and keep walking in and out of the house work men and that then today it started raining in the kitchen a pipe must have gone and the Water mains tap is boxed in so we cant get to it. as it is bank holiday nobody is around to fix this so i'm having to pack myself and the children up and move in to my parents house until the house is live able in again! is there anyone else i can report them to other than EHO? Can i claim compensation for being put out like this? what can i do? please help me as i just don't know what to do
